Ernesto's Restaurant
Located in the Club House, Ernesto's offers Oaxacan cuisine with a local farm and ocean-to table sensibility.
Fresh, provincial ingredients make up every meal, from seasonal breakfast buffets to á la carte dinners.

Mezcalina's Lounge
Mezcalina’s lounge next to Ernesto's, offers a laid-back atmosphere, and substantial drink menu making it the perfect place to socialize with friends—old and new.

Pool Bar
Sip on a signature or classic cocktail of your choice, handcrafted by one of the friendly bartenders, without leaving the infinity-edge swimming pool.
Note: Our favourite is to head over for happy hour and have a margarita en las rocas).

On-site Store
The on-site store offers a convenient selection of limited groceries, beverages, snacks, and ice cream — perfect for stocking up on essentials without leaving the resort. It’s a handy spot to grab cold drinks or treats.
Note: It's Mexico time so the store might not always be open.

Grocery Delivery
We get our groceries delivered right to Vivo from Chuy "CHOO-ee" who has a grocery store in Chila ("CHEE-lah") called Frutas y verduras Antonio's.
He has produce, pantry essentials, and more. We are lucky that he delivers 1-3 times a week depending on the time of year.

Chedraui Store
Chedraui "Cheh-DRAH-wee" is a large Mexican grocery and department store in Puerto Escondido, similar to a Walmart, where you can find everything from fresh produce, meats, and bakery items to household goods, clothing, and electronics.
Amenities
Our resort offers amenities including a beautiful clubhouse, multiple pools, and fitness center, and even pickleball and tennis courts for those who like to stay active.

Pool with Swim-Up Bar
The main infinity pool is the centerpiece of Vivo, offering stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and direct access to a swim-up bar — perfect for sipping margaritas without leaving the water.
Surrounded by loungers and umbrellas, it's an ideal spot to relax, socialize, and watch the sunset.

Adult Only Pool
When we want a quiet escape, the adult-only lap pool is perfect.
Whether we want to swim for exercise or simply relax away from the busier pools, this space offers a serene setting with ocean view.
From the pool we can often spot whales swimming by (as early as November or as late as May).

Family Pool
The family pool is a great place for kids and adults to play and unwind.
Set slightly apart from the main pool, it’s quieter and perfect for families looking for a more casual, laid-back vibe, where kids can splash around safely.
Often there is a friendly game of water volleyball in the afternoon.

Fitness Centre
Vivo Resorts' fitness facility is fully equipped with everything you need to stay active, including cardio machines, free weights, and strength-training equipment. We enjoy the beautiful views while working out.

Vivo Resorts offers 2 tennis and 3 pickleball courts.

One of the most unforgettable experiences at Vivo Resorts is the turtle release program, where you can help safely guide baby sea turtles to the ocean.
This heartwarming activity supports local conservation efforts and creates a meaningful connection to the natural beauty of the Oaxacan coast.

Selah & Yoga Classes
Join Carol's Saleh fitness class, a guest favourite for getting energized and feeling good. Stay active with refreshing aquarobics in the pool or unwind your body and mind with relaxing yoga classes.
*Carol generously donates her time and collects donations for the local orphanage, helping support children in the community.

Pickleball & Tennis
Guests have access to 2 dedicated tennis courts and 3 pickleball courts, conveniently located behind the Clubhouse.
These facilities are available daily from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm.

Taco Tuesdays
Taco Tuesday by the pool bar kicks off at 4 PM—enjoy mouthwatering, made-to-order tacos in a relaxed setting with ocean views and great company.

Social Games
Owners and guests often organize friendly games of Texas Hold'em, cribbage, and Mahjong, fostering a vibrant social atmosphere.

Happy Hour
Daily happy hour at Mezcalina’s and the pool bar from 4 to 6 PM, the perfect time to relax, socialize, and sip a favourite cocktails.

Take a Tuk Tuk to Chila
​​Take a tuk-tuk to the nearby village of Chila...well why not? The journey begins with a ride along our gravel road, passing by pastures and agricultural fields, including peanut crops, before reaching the main highway. From there it's a short drive into Chila. Chila isn't big but you can grab a few groceries, fresh chicken or spices.

​Swim at Playa Carrizalillo
​Playa Carrizalillo is a picturesque beach in Puerto Escondido, nestled within a sheltered cove accessible via a stairway of 157 steps. Renowned for its gentle waves and clear turquoise waters, it's an ideal spot for swimming and beginner surfers. The beach is lined with thatched-roof eateries offering local cuisine, providing a perfect setting to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings.

​Puerto Escondido features vibrant markets that showcase its rich culture and local flavors. Mercado Benito Juárez, where most locals go, is the largest, offering traditional foods, clothing, and unique items like roasted grasshoppers (chapulines). Mercado Zicatela, the newest market, and after sunset, the Alfonso Pérez Gasga Night Market, behind Playa Principal, becomes a lively pedestrian zone with vendors selling crafts, clothing, and local delicacies.
